Book a Behaviour Consult
I’m Dr Terri, I travel across the Sunshine Coast to help pets and their people with behaviour problems, all in the comfort of your home. Many behaviour issues have an underlying medical cause, and with my background as a registered vet, I can look at the full picture, both emotional and physical.
Seeing pets in their own environment allows me to understand the root of the issue without the stress of a clinic visit. Sometimes a few changes at home, some behaviour strategies, or even medication can make a big difference to your pet’s happiness – and yours.
Excessive Barking Boredom, anxiety or lack of mental stimulation.
Digging & Destruction Finding outlets for pent-up energy or frustration.
Separation Anxiety Distress when left alone.
Noise Fears Storms, fireworks, vacuum cleaners, etc.
Mounting/Humping Often a stress or excitement response, not just sexual.
Aggression Growling or lunging at people or other dogs, usually fear- or resource-driven.
Inappropriate Toileting Avoiding the litter tray—often a sign of stress or health issues.
Over- or Under-Grooming Stress, skin discomfort or boredom.
Hiding & Avoidance Fearful or anxious cats retreating from family or new situations.
Inter-Cat Aggression Redirected stress or territory disputes.
Stress Around Change Moving house, new baby or another pet can trigger them.
Noise Sensitivity Some cats react badly to loud appliances or parties next door.
Some pets behave very differently in a clinic. That’s why I come to you – so I can see your pet’s behaviour in their usual surroundings and better understand what’s going on.
I’ll assess your pet’s behaviour and overall health, and we’ll talk through what you’ve been noticing. Together, we’ll come up with a plan that suits your pet and your lifestyle – whether it’s training advice, environment changes, or medication support.
As part of my behaviour consultations, I often recommend a range of trusted products and tools to support your pet’s emotional wellbeing and training at home. These items can help reduce anxiety, improve focus and provide essential mental stimulation — all key to managing common behaviour issues in both dogs and cats.
