Terri King

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc (Hons))

Dr Terri grew up on a hobby farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.  Living the farm life sparked her interest in caring for animals.  Rehabilitating injured wildlife as well as looking after all sorts of animals from cattle, pigs and horses, to guinea pigs and quails.

Dr Terri attended high school at Noosa District State High, where she developed a love of Chemistry, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.  She then went on to study Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in St Lucia.

Graduating Vet school in 2004, Dr Terri moved to start her career in the UK.  Working in Yorkshire seeing a variety of cases and also travelling to a variety of European countries over 18 months.  On the way back home, she assisted with a research project involving elephants in Southern Africa.

Returning to Australia, still infected with the travel bug, Dr Terri worked in several veterinary clinics throughout Western Australia for 3 months.  Queensland will however always be home and after working as a locum small animal veterinarian for about 4 years, she settled in Slacks Creek, Brisbane for 8 years.  She managed a small animal clinic nearby for 6 of those years.

The end of 2018, Dr Terri bought 10 acres on the Sunshine Coast, working at a Noosa based small animal veterinary clinic.  Dr Terri decided to start a house call business mid-2020 to be able to see and treat animals from the comfort of their own homes.  She loves both cats and dogs, but feels cats and their owners sometimes suffer a lot of stress to make it in to a clinic.  Coming to their home means stress can be reduced for everyone.

Dr Terri also has a creative side and loves to garden, work with wood and renovate her house.
